Job Description:
The Yeoman Storekeeper is responsible for the proper performance and administration of all supply department functions assigned in accordance with directives and programs. This Yeoman
Storekeeper is responsible of the day to day operation and management of his/her assigned duties such as;
maintenance of records, correspondence, reports, returns, and obligations records for all material.  Responsible for proper material identification for both Government and commercial items (using management data lists, allowance lists, load lists, technical manuals, parts lists, and commercial off the
shelf (COTS) technical research systems). Responsible for proper maintenance of all files (for requisitions, purchases, stowage, and disposition of material) and responsible for proper receipt, stowage,
distribution and transportation of Fleet Cargo, Mail, Freight, Personal Effects, and Unaccompanied Baggage. Responsible for maintaining an inventory of all shipboard hazardous materials, receipts, issues, stowage, turn-in and submitting new requirements to be added to MSC Authorized Use Listing (AUL).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a United States Citizen of at least 18 years of age and possess and maintain a valid:
1. U. S. Passport with a minimum of 7 months remaining of expiration date,
2. United States Coast Guard (USCG) Merchant Mariner’s Document (MMD), or Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC), with a minimum of 10 months remaining of expiration date with the following endorsement: Food Handler (FH).
3. Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card with a minimum of 10 months remaining of expiration date.
4. Must have one year (documented) specialized experience. Specialized experience includes the administration of supply operations and performing receipt, issue, stowage and inventory of all types of material. Related experience must have been in at least one of the following:
1) Aboard a MSC vessel with completion of the following four (4) courses; Storekeeper Basic, A School,
Supply/Configuration Management (SM), Material Financial Control Systems-Retail Assets (MFCSRA/SAC224), and Hazardous Materials Management (HAZMAT)
OR
2) Military experience in a Supply/Logistics rating (E-5 or above)
OR
3) Commercial Warehouse/Inventory Management experience.
